In the aftermath of the Golden Globe awards, which saw multiple women accuse James Franco of sexual harassment and misconduct, the actor has kept a low-profile, as he opted to skip out on the Critic's Choice Awards in the wake of these very public revelations. Franco did decide to come out of hiding and make an appearance last night at the SAG awards, where he was nominated for his role in The Disaster Artist. However, it is his sister-in-law Alison Brie, also in attendance, who directly addressed the accusations that have tarnished Franco's reputation.

During an interview with E's Live at the Red Carpet, host Giuliana Rancic directly asked the GLOW star about the allegations that have been pinned against her brother-in-law. Beginning with a brief statement on the cultural omnipotence of the Time's Up movement, Rancic quickly segued into how the headlines surrounding Franco's questionable behaviour are affecting his family. Brie responded with "I think that above all what we’ve always said is it remains vital that anyone who feels victimized does have the right to speak out."

The actress continued to say how "I obviously support my family and not everything reported has been fully accurate. But of course now is a time for listening and that’s what we’re all trying to do." While Brie's answer came off as a bit calculated and planned out, she could have expected that at least one reporter would have brought up Franco's misdeeds in the aftermath of his fall from grace.
