Nicholas Brooks confirmed that he was working as security for Yella Beezy as a side gig.

Yella Beezy’s murder-for-hire case has undoubtedly taken some unexpected turns since it started. His friend Jose Bodega went from a government witness to recanting the testimony he provided to the Grand Jury. And if that wasn’t enough, now a police officer who worked as security for Yella Beezy took the stand, only to be confronted by the prosecutors.

Nicholas Brooks testified that he didn’t tell detectives that he and Yella Beezy communicated on the day that Mo3 was murdered. Brooks revealed that the prosecutors reached out to him to ask about his text exchanges and phone calls with Beezy, while stating that he also would’ve provided this information to detectives in 2020 when they were investigating the murder.

The prosecutor then dived into the particulars of the text messages, including that the timestamps indicated Brooks contacted Beezy after news of the shooting surfaced. Brooks said that he told Beezy about the information he heard about the shooting on the highway.

Nicholas Brooks Testifies In Yella Beezy Trial

“I knew he was from Oak Cliff. He’s a rapper and there had been disputes going on between a handful of them all over the internet,” Brooks explained when asked why he contacted Beezy. He added that he reached out because he wanted to see whether or not Beezy was responsible for the shooting or if he was shot himself. The officer also testified that Beezy told him he was in California at the time that Mo3 was gunned down.

The Yella Beezy murder-for-hire case is currently on its second week of trial. Kewon White has already been convicted of capital murder for MO3’s death. He was sentenced to life without parole. We will continue to keep you posted on any further updates surrounding the case.
