Yella Beezy's trial continues with his childhood friend stating that he lied to the Grand Jury.

After pleading the Fifth during his testimony last week, Yella Beezy’s childhood friend has now told the court that he lied to the Grand Jury. According to WFAA, Jose Bodega, real name Theodore Thomas, recanted the statements that he provided to indict Yella Beezy in his murder-for-hire trial that led to the shooting death of MO3.

Bodega told the court during the second week of trial that his claims surrounding Yella Beezy’s involvement in MO3’s death weren’t true. “I told you I lied already, so asking me questions from a paper, it’s like you making me re-lie,” he said. This includes the states me provided not just the grand jury but attorneys and detectives.

When the prosecutors pressed Bodega on the alleged feud involving Yella Beezy, Trapboy Freddie, and Mo3, he played coy. “Moving into 2020, there was a feud, correct? Between Yella Beezy, Trapboy Freddie, and [Mo3]?” the prosecutor asked. “I mean, I guess so,” Bodega responded. However, as the prosecutors asked Bodega whether he agreed with the statements, he said, “I can’t say I agree.”

Jose Bodega Recants Testimony During Yella Beezy Trial

Ultimately, Bodega’s testimony wasn’t necessarily met positively by the prosecutors, who asked the judge to label him a hostile witness.

“Y’all talked about the money, how much Kewon paid to do this, and your answer was supposedly $40,000? That was your answer,” the prosecutor asked Bodega, who said, “Yeah,” in response. However, when pressed further on whether he recalled Yella Beezy and Trapboy Freddie pooling that money together, he told them, “That was a lie.”

Bodege told the court that he attempted to recant his statements before while Beezy’s attorneys asked him how testifying would work to his benefit in court. We will continue to keep you posted on any further updates on the case.
