Things don't go as planned during Jose Bodega's testimony in Yella Beezy's capital murder trial.

Yella Beezy’s trial isn’t going as smoothly as prosecutors had hoped. According to WFAA, a key witness, one of Yella Beezy’s friends, refused to testify during his time on the stand. Jose Bodega, described as the rapper’s childhood friend, previously testified in front of the grand jury that handed down indictments to Beezy and Kewon White, the man convicted of the murder of Mo3. But when he was asked to corroborate his claims in front of the court, he continued to invoke the Fifth Amendment.

Bodega faced prosecutors in court when they presented a 140-page grand jury transcript of his testimony. That particular transcript included significant details surrounding Mo3’s relationship with Yella Beezy and more. However, the moment he was asked to testify about Beezy’s crew Get Rich Cartel, the beef between Beezy and Trapboy Freddy, or his location in California with Beezy, he sidestepped each question, answering, “I’m going to plead the Fifth to that.” He echoed this same statement when the defense asked if he wanted to recant any statements he previously made.

Jose Bodega's Testimony In Yella Beezy Trial

Evidently, this created some frustration in the courtroom, and eventually, Judge Chika Anyiam stepped in. The judge excused Jose Bodega from the stand but then stated that he had to return to court on Friday, October 30th.

Ultimately, Jose Bodega was supposed to testify in court in hopes of getting his own case dismissed. He previously stated that Beezy and another person were supposed to put in $20K each, though the other person didn’t put hold up their end.

We will ultimately have to see what happens in court today. Yella Beezy is currently on trial for coordinating the murder of Mo3. HotNewHipHop will continue to keep you posted on any further updates surrounding the trial.
