Federal prosecutors are clamping down on Pooh Shiesty after his attorneys made a request for better jail conditions. The rapper recently claimed that he’s being held for 23 hours in his cell alone with only two hours of visits every month at Rolling Plains Regional Jail in Haskell, Texas.
According to Complex, prosecutors want the judge to deny his request for better conditions behind bars on grounds that they believe it’s necessary to keep Pooh protected and to ensure order at the facility. They specifically claimed that he’s already created safety concerns in the past, such as corrupting monitors at a halfway house. Prosecutors also allege that three inmates tried to break into his location for autographs and that the All Eyes On Shiest artist admitted that he recently took fentanyl during a court hearing.
As far as the inhumane conditions, prosecutors said that he’s had significant access to the outside world because he has a tablet that he uses to stream content, make video calls, play games, and send emails. The filing alleges that he’s made more than 45 hours' worth of communication over the course of 231 video calls. Moreover, they claim he has access to thousands of emails.

Pooh Shiesty's Attorney Response To Prosecutors
More directly, they also brought up other rulings in court that allow prison officials the authority to manage their facilities, one of which states, “prison officials have broad administrative and discretionary authority over the institutions they manage.” It also points to another ruling that states, “administrative segregation is the sort of confinement that inmates should reasonably anticipate receiving at some point in their incarceration.”
Pooh Shiesty’s attorney said that the conditions are too harsh, especially since Pooh Shiesty hasn’t been convicted. “He is locked down 23 hours per day and has no contact with anyone other than staff,” Schaffer told Complex. “If by some stretch of the imagination it’s true, then they need to take a close look at their staff and their ability to run a jail.”
