J Balvin has quietly built one of the most consistent collab runs in Jordan Brand history. Since becoming the first Latin artist to receive his own Air Jordan in 2020, he has worked through the line in order, one silhouette at a time. The AJ1, the AJ2, the AJ3 twice, and now the AJ4.
Each release has stayed true to his Colombian identity and his signature use of color, while giving Jordan Brand a creative partner who actually has something to say with every shoe.
Here is every J Balvin x Jordan Brand release ranked from bottom to top.
6. J Balvin x Air Jordan Super Play Slide
The Super Play Slide dropped alongside the Air Jordan 2 in September 2022 as the more accessible piece of the collab package. At $70, it brought Balvin's colorful world to a casual, everyday silhouette that most of his fans could actually afford.
The "Celestine Blue" upper features puffed-out cloud panels on the strap, rainbow zig-zag stitching, and J Balvin's signature smiley face logo throughout. The glow-in-the-dark foam midsole was also a nice touch that made it more interesting than a standard slide.
It wasn't trying to be the centerpiece of the collection and it didn't need to be. As a companion piece it did exactly what it was supposed to do, and for the people who slept on it, it's one of the more underrated pickups in the entire Balvin catalog.
Overall, it sits at the bottom of this list basically because it's a slide and not a sneaker.
5. J Balvin x Air Jordan 2 High
The Air Jordan 2 doesn't get enough credit as a collab canvas, and J Balvin made a strong case for it with this release. The design brought his signature multicolor aesthetic to a silhouette that had been largely dormant for years before Off-White and Balvin helped reignite it in the early 2020s.
It arrived in September 2022 at $300, making it the most expensive release in his Jordan catalog to date. The price also reflected the premium approach with the materials and detailing that was a step up from his AJ1 the year before. Balvin was becoming increasingly confident as a Jordan Brand collaborator by this point, and that confidence showed in the design choices.
The AJ2 High sits at number five because everything that came after it pushed things even further.
4. J Balvin x Air Jordan 4 "Amazonas"
The "Amazonas" is the newest drop in the catalog and also one of the most vibrant Jordan 4s in recent memory. The entire shoe is wrapped in "Lemonade" yellow croc-textured leather inspired by the yellow caiman, one of the Amazon's most distinctive creatures.
Balvin further debuted it on stage at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Medellín, giving it one of the biggest debut stages any sneaker has ever had. The caiman skin look runs throughout the whole shoe, with J Balvin and Jumpman branding on opposite heels and lace details tying his Colombian identity directly into the details.
It dropped October 2nd, 2026 for $225. Overall, the design ambition here is undeniable, and the cultural moment surrounding the debut made it one of the more memorable Jordan collab launches in years.
3. J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 High "Colores Y Vibras"
The one that started everything. When J Balvin dropped the "Colores Y Vibras" Air Jordan 1 in December 2020, he made history as the first person of Latin descent to collaborate with Jordan Brand.
Its multicolor upper, detachable patches, and rainbow-soaked aesthetic captured his identity immediately, and Jordan Brand had never seen anything quite like it before. Looking back, it holds up as a win in Jordan Brand's collab history, because the shoe delivered.
At $190, it was accessible enough to reach a broad audience, and the sellout confirmed that Balvin had serious commercial appeal beyond his music fanbase. It ranks at three because the two AJ3 releases that followed were even stronger creative statements, but this one changed the game first.
2. J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 "Rio"
The "Rio" is J Balvin's most personal shoe. He named it after his son, born in 2021, and the design reflects that intimacy in every detail. The "Black" leather base keeps things grounded while the gradient midsole brings the warmth and color Balvin is known for.
The grey elephant print on the toe and heel also acknowledges the AJ3's history without being dominated by it. His smiley face logo sits on the right heel with "Nike Air" on the left, with further unique details honoring his son appearing throughout the shoe.
It dropped May 22nd, 2024 on SNKRS for $250 and quickly became one of the most beloved releases in the collab series. Overall, when a shoe tells a personal story, and the design backs it up completely, it's hard to place anything above it. Except for one.
1. J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 "Medellín Sunset"
The "Medellín Sunset" is the best thing J Balvin and Jordan Brand have made together. Released September 23, 2023, at $250, the shoe celebrates the sunset that takes place over his hometown in Colombia every evening.
The multicolor gradient across the upper, from warm oranges and pinks through deep purples and blues, captures that skyline in footwear form. Every colorway decision was intentional and rooted in a real place. Balvin's signature smiley face also appears on the right heel tab while "Nike Air" takes the left, and the full package arrived with co-branded apparel that further extended the story beyond the shoe itself.
The "Medellín Sunset" demonstrated what a truly personal Jordan collab looks like when both sides are fully committed to the concept. Overall, it was a cultural statement as much as a sneaker, and it remains the high point of one of the most interesting artist partnership runs in Jordan Brand history.
