Lil Wayne says they have unreleased music dating back to 2014 that they want to release.

Will Drake and Lil Wayne ever release a joint project together? That’s to be determined, but by the looks of it, the chances seem slim. That doesn’t mean there’s any shortage of music. During a recent interview on The Joint Venture Show, Lil Wayne revealed that they have a vault of unreleased music, dating back to 2014.

“We have a whole bunch of unreleased material. I go through stuff from 2014 and 2015, like… really unheard stuff,” Wayne revealed. When asked if there’s a possibility of an official release, Wayne sounded hopeful. “I edit stuff up and just send it to his phone so he can hear the new versions of it and get him going.”

Apparently, Drake constantly responds enthusiastically, asking when they plan on releasing it. Hopefully, the two can lock in some time to actually make these records see the light of day.

Lil Wayne & Drake Collaborations

It’s, unfortunately, been a minute since the two of them have been on the same track together. The last time was on Certified Lover Boy’s “You Only Live Twice” in 2021. They also appeared on Nicki Minaj’s “Seeing Green” that same year.

The talks of a collaborative album aren’t new by any means. Back in 2011, Drake confirmed that they scrapped plans to drop a project together due to the success of Watch The Throne. However, roughly eight years later, Wayne suggested that the idea could be back on the table during an interview with Vibe.

“We’re both doing what we do, but he already know," Wayne said of the possibility of a joint mixtape. "We still text and send songs here and there, change a verse because he killed me or change a verse ‘cuz I killed him. It’s still the same competition."

Evidently, the process hasn’t changed much, but fans could only hope that we’ll at least get a new song from them in the near future.
