DJ Akademiks spoke about Meek Mill's booking prices, and why the artist isn't the darling of the festival circuit that he should be.

DJ Akademiks and Meek Mill have been at odds for over a decade at this point. Just a few weeks ago, their feud got particularly dark. Meek was looking for Ak's address, and the commentator was flashing his weapons collection.

Since then, the two have eased up on their tensions. However, that isn't stopping Akademiks from giving his two cents on how Meek is conducting business. During a conversation with Trap Lore Ross, Ak actually gave Meek some advice about booking rates and how to become relevant again.

Akademiks began the conversation by alleging that he has insider information about what Meek's booking rate is. He claims that Meek is asking $300K to do festivals like Rolling Loud. However, that's the kind of money a headliner would make, and there aren't any festivals willing to make Meek their main attraction.

Based on the way these festivals do their budgets, an artist like Meek Mill would be overlooked entirely, as the interest-to-cost ratio just doesn't make sense anymore.

Akademiks then went on to say that there is a very real solution here. If Meek were to drop his booking rate to $70K, he would be getting penciled in at these festivals a lot more often. He could be placed in the mid-tier billing, and fans would get to see him live again.

It's an interesting analysis of the situation that certainly makes logical sense. However, you must first trust Akademiks' premise that Meek is, in fact, overcharging for his current services.

These last few years have not been easy for Meek. However, he has classic records, and no one can ever take that fact away from him.
