Ice Cube and his son, O'Shea Jackson Jr. got into a heated argument on X with Dejon Paul, after Paul said Cube has done nothing for LA.

Ice Cube is a hip-hop legend and a cultural icon who has starred in movies all while creating his own successful basketball league. However, his cultural contributions were questioned by rapper and YouTube personality Dejon Paul. This led to a large fallout on X, with lots of insults being thrown.

It all started when Dejon Paul interviewed Ralfy The Plug at ComplexCon. The two agreed that if Drakeo The Ruler had major label support, he would have outsold AZ Chike. This subsequently led to a response from O'Shea Jackson Jr., who was confused why AZ Chike was being torn down for no reason.

"What’s the point of tryna tear AzChike down tho," Jackson Jr. said. "Why not just talk about how big Drakeo would’ve been with a major behind him."

Paul issued a response, and immediately made things personal when he asked what Ice Cube has done for new rappers in Los Angeles.

"No one is tearing AzChike down, I said LA rap needs another game changer like Drakeo and his fans said he couldn’t outsell Chike. More importantly, why hasn’t your father @IceCube w/ all his multi-millions and resources signed or developed any new LA rappers this decade or last?" Paul asked.

Ice Cube got wind of these comments and issued a lengthy response, in which he let Paul know about all of the various initiatives he has worked on over the last decade. Cube also warned Paul to stop trying to create problems on the West Coast.

Ice Cube & Dejon Paul Back And Forth

"Because I'm an independent artist who's not retired or semiretired. I write, produce and perform my own music. I write, produce, direct and star in movies," Ice Cube said. "I also produce the soundtracks. I produce television as well. I'm also the co-founder and CEO of my own professional basketball league called the BIG3. It's unfair for any rapper to be signed to me and expect the kind of attention they need to be successful. People like you, will always criticize people like me for not using my talents and resources in the way they see fit. Mind your own business cause the first time something is produced that you consider 'wack' you'd be asking everybody Why'd they working with an old ass n***a like Cube!? Stop trying to cause problems in L.A. and keep it pushing."

Things eventually got nasty between the two as an all-out argument broke out on X. Cube and Paul went back and forth, with Paul questioning Cube's cultural cache. Paul even called Cube a "buster" and a "studio gangsta." This had Cube daring Paul to come and snatch his chain.

The debate eventually ended with Cube posting Paul's Spotify streaming numbers. It also ended with an old tweet of Paul saying that one of his West Coast favorites is Ice Cube.

Clearly, Cube had time last night, and he was not going to let the disrespect manifest any further.
