Yung Miami finally got Quavo’s side of the Bentley saga, and his explanation involved a message from God.

Divine intervention has officially entered one of Hip Hop’s longest-running breakup stories. More than five years after Quavo took back the custom Bentley he once gifted Saweetie, he told Yung Miami that the decision apparently came from above. Asked about repossessing the luxury car after their relationship ended, Quavo said God told him to take it back.

The explanation adds a new wrinkle to a story that became nearly as memorable as the breakup itself. Quavo surprised Saweetie with the customized white Bentley for Christmas in 2020, complete with snowflake details and “Icy” embroidered into the headrests. REVOLT covered the original gift as Saweetie celebrated the surprise, months before their relationship publicly unraveled.

By March 2021, the couple had called it quits. Saweetie suggested betrayal played a role in the split, writing at the time that “presents don’t band aid scars” and saying intimacy had been given to other women. Quavo disputed her characterization of their relationship, and rumors quickly followed that he had reclaimed the Bentley. His camp initially denied it, although his later music seemed to wink at the controversy.

Yung Miami Has Now Heard Both Sides Of The Bentley Story

There is some symmetry in Quavo finally telling this story to Yung Miami. Back in 2022, she put Saweetie in the hot seat over the exact same car during an episode of Caresha Please. “How you feel when he took your car back?” Miami asked.

Saweetie did not seem interested in mourning the Bentley. She laughed, then explained that she'd simply bought herself another luxury vehicle. “I had to go get me a little Rolls[-Royce],” she said, adding that she had gotten used to the experience and decided to purchase one herself.

That interview also found Saweetie admitting that the breakup had been much more painful than some of the public back-and-forth suggested. She told Miami that she once believed she and Quavo would spend their lives together and described their relationship as one filled with “growing pains.” She declined to directly answer whether he had cheated.
