It’s still Drake against the world, somehow. Despite having a stellar year with the release of three albums, alongside two solid visual projects to accompany them, the rapper has a chip on his shoulder, and he made that pretty clear during his impromptu livestream last night. Drizzy hit the slots with Stake and flaunted some of his jewels before stating that his pieces are priceless.
“Shout out to Ben Da Don. Shout out to me, too. What you mean?” he said as he showed off his Cash Money chain. “Birdman, platinum, Cash Money. What? Are you guys crazy? You think you guys could buy our artifacts like how we buy your artifacts? No, it’s in the family, dummy.”
While on the surface it might seem like a simple flex, it does seem to carry some significance given his track record and the recent news. According to Complex, several of Drake’s pieces from the Take Care era have been placed on the auction block since the beginning of the year. Most recently, several of the chains, rings, and bracelets that Drake wore on that album cover have been placed for sale.

However, Drake also has a history of purchasing rare hip-hop artifacts that he keeps in his Toronto home, some of which have also played a role in his feuds. He purchased one of Pharrell’s old chains, which he bragged about melting down on “MELTDOWN” as a shot at Pusha T. Then, there’s the Tupac ring that became a centerpiece in his feud with Kendrick Lamar. But with the speculation of a supposed leak where Pusha T allegedly fired shots at Drake over a Pharrell beat, it seems like an interesting time to revisit whatever tension remains between them.
