The album includes previously released songs “Too Easy,” “Melatonin,” “Crash Out,” and “Pillow Fight,” alongside new cuts like “Empty Stadium,” “Nobody Wanna Dance Anymore,” and the title track. Tinashe has always moved comfortably between R&B, pop, electronic music, and dance, and Popstar feels like another chance for her to play with those lines. After years of building her career on her own terms, the title also feels fitting for where she is now.
