The Joe Budden Podcast debated over "FOMO" on their latest episode, the new short film by Drake. It shared new material, expanded some previous songs, and included visuals for some HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR cuts. Budden was particularly praiseful of Drizzy's expanded "Classic" version. This appeared on his YouTube today (Saturday, September 19) along with various other "FOMO" music videos.
CY Chels caught the podcast highlight on Twitter, with Joe praising this expanded version despite his beef with Drake over the years. He even suggested the 6ix God may have re-recorded the whole thing, and laughed at his intro about not talking smack to a girl. The podcaster and rapper called "Classic" a "slap" and a "classic" later on, saying this version made him happy with "FOMO" as a whole regardless of its other elements. "The music is there," he argued.
Budden also called it "all the way heat" and "like old-school Drake," and said he also liked The Boy's Don Toliver collab remixing or interpolating "Choosin' Texas" by Ella Langley. "I got three joints on here that I liked a lot. I was pleased," he said. "I'd like to know when these joints are coming out, available to be sold."

On the other hand, Yawovi1986 caught the more full JBP discussion on "FOMO" via Twitter. They agreed it was cool overall and that Drake was just having fun, even if they didn't like every single approach or idea. Despite some fan backlash they saw online, they appreciated how he seems unbothered and free in the short film.
The podcast later debated about the concept of "age-ism" in hip-hop and beyond that "FOMO" reignited. For the most part, they dismissed the worth of this bias, but they had a discussion about what it means to age "gracefully" in the game. Their conversation opened up beyond rap borders as well.
Of course, given Budden's frequent issues with Drake and vice versa, this will probably surprise some folks. Or, at least, spark negative reactions to the sudden praise. But flowers were due. The praise is still kind of ironic given how Joe Budden wanted him to send shots at none other than Jay-Z before we knew exactly what "FOMO" would be.
