Sexyy Red’s family drama is unfortunately spilling onto the timeline. It all stems from a $5M lawsuit filed against her in March 2025 where she was accused of rallying her fans in an attempt to assault the grandmother of her child. Nicole Barnes claims Sexyy Red requested that her fans “kick in the door” to physically assault Barnes.
Per TMZ, there is now a request for a default judgment against the rapper after she allegedly failed to respond to the lawsuit. Barnes said that Sexyy Red was served “publication in a newspaper” following complaints that the rapper dodged the legal docs being served to her. Ultimately, Barnes is now asking the court to grant a default judgment of $5M because there was never a response to the lawsuit in the first place. At this point, it’s a game of waiting until a judge rules on the motion.
Sexyy Red Responds To Request For Default Judgment In $5M Lawsuit
Despite these accusations and the possible $5M default judgment, Sexyy Red’s attorney maintains that she never committed anything that she’s accused of.
“The claims asserted in this case are baseless and completely without merit. Red categorically denies these allegations and looks forward to defending herself in court,” her lawyer, Jason Lampert, told TMZ.
Barnes claimed that Sexyy Red hared a picture of her home and her address on her Facebook page, which has upwards of 45K followers. Moreover, she said that as a result of the post, she and her family had to move away from their home in Hazelwood, a city within the greater St. Louis’ area. Barnes said that she lived in “constant fear” because of the alleged post as she was concerned for their safety.
