DJ Akademiks has been one of the loudest voices when it comes to the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. However, you probably know by now that he is far from unbiased in this matter. Instead, he is a staunch defender of Drake, even when the Canadian megastar makes questionable moves involving lawsuits.
Recently, it was suggested that Kendrick Lamar has a verse on the new AZ Chike album and that he is talking that talk. Akademiks spoke about this on his livestream while on a call with What's The Dirt?
This subsequently led to a warning directed at K-Dot. Akademiks believes Lamar should sincerely reconsider dissing The Game and Drake on his upcoming verse. As he describes, Game isn't someone you can diss and then just go about your business. Ak believes Lamar would need to remain active, as Game has a history of dissing people for a decade.
DJ Akademiks Speaks On Kendrick Lamar
Akademiks has already dubbed Lamar as "lazy" and doesn't think the artist is ready to commit to a lengthy battle. Meanwhile, Akademiks doesn't want to hear any Drake disses either, as the battle is over, and there are no more "round twos."
The interesting thing about those comments is that Drake took shots at Kendrick all over ICEMAN, yet Ak had nothing to say about that. His commentary only goes one way, but given the OVO chain, this is to be expected.
Kendrick Lamar will have a new verse on Jhené Aiko's project, which drops tomorrow. From there, he will likely be on the AZ Chike album, which is great news for hip-hop fans. At the end of the day, we just want good music.
