MrBeast’s alter ego has been one of the internet’s oddest memes, one that he’s embraced over time. “Hood MrBeast” aka Mr. Lean became a photoshop/AI edit that took the internet by storm. And now, it has inserted itself into hip-hop, officially, thanks to Lil Baby.
Over the weekend, Lil Baby dropped off the remix to his hit single, “Dead Fresh” with a new verse from MrBeast. While it’s already baffling to think that MrBeast is rapping over a Pharrell beat, the two delivered a music video which sees them in the YouTuber’s hometown of Greenville, North Carolina.
The video begins with MrBeast claiming that the “meme is dead” and that he can’t rap, only to launch into a verse shortly after where he flexes on everyone. “Richest rapper on the scene, call me Mr. Lean," MrBeast raps. "30 million pounds of trash, we got that ocean clean/Take a minute, feel the breeze, it's 20 million trees,” he continues, in reference to his philanthropic efforts to remove trash from the ocean and plant trees across the planet.
MrBeast & Lil Baby Connect
MrBeast also dives into more grandiose flexes where he talks about giving back to his neighborhood and linking up with Lil Baby. It’s a strange collaboration but not one that is unexpected, especially considering that there was footage and rumors of the two working together over the past little while.
Fans quickly reacted to the video. One fan wrote, "I don’t know why, but this feels racist." Another questioned if MrBeast did a Feastable spread.
