Drake already took over 2026 with his "ICEMAN" trilogy, so some folks think the die-hards might be reading too deeply into this.

Drake has been having one of the best years of his career so far when it comes to commercial dominance and cultural resonance, but it seems like he still might want more. That's because of a new Instagram post he let off just a few hours ago at press time, which has fans thinking a new album could be on the way.

Earlier today (Friday, August 21), Drizzy posted a picture on Instagram of a simple message on the back of what seems to be a CD case. "FEAR OF MISSING OUT," the message read, and he captioned the post with a film camera emoji.

While this is an incredibly vague hint that could mean a whole bunch of things, some die-hards immediately assumed we would get another LP soon. After all, Drake already dropped his ICEMAN trilogy in 2026, so the idea of one other project isn't that wild.

But that prolific release is what led other fans to react to this interpretation more skeptically. Maybe this is more of a reference to upcoming music videos or some other endeavor on the way. At the end of the day, we will just have to wait and see.

Drake's "No Brakes"

However, Drake did drop new music this week, which is another sign he might have more heat on the way. Specifically, it's his feature on the new track "No Brakes," which lands on The Documentary III from none other than The Game. This collab (and other bars on the album) immediately sparked Kendrick Lamar diss theories, but it seems like things are not so simple.

Elsewhere, Drake is expanding his live music endeavors with a second HISTORY location in Ottawa. He opened the first iteration of the concert venue in Toronto five years ago, and he thanked Live Nation for going on this journey with him.

With that in mind, the 6ix God will have a lot on his mind this year. Whether or not another album is part of those plans is another, very unclear story. Yet at this point, another big release from the Toronto superstar this year doesn't seem completely impossible.
