The Game and Drake connect on their new collaboration “No Brakes.” The track first surfaced after DJ Akademiks unexpectedly previewed it during a livestream on Thursday (August 20), giving fans an early listen. The track appears on The Game's newly released The Documentary 3, which is also stacked with a star-studded features list.
"No Brakes" fits right in with the West Coast-inspired production that Game is known for. The song finds the two trading flows while keeping things all gas and “No Brakes.” Game also delivers several attention-grabbing bars throughout the record, including a reference to himself and Drake as the “three amigos.” There’s also been plenty of discussion on social media surrounding Game’s bars on the track, particularly lyrics that listeners have interpreted as him siding with Drake in his feud with Kendrick Lamar. “If I have to pick a side, I’m choosing homicide,” Game raps. Given Game and Kendrick’s shared Compton roots, the line quickly caught fans’ attention and sparked debate over whether it was a deliberate shot at Kendrick or simply Game making his allegiance to Drake clear. Both things can be true, however.
