21 Savage and Metro Boomin talk about their unique collaboration and why it works.

Because Atlanta is arguably the new new mecca of hip hop, music enthusiasts are flocking to the A to catch a glimpse of history in the making. Two of the most prominent young talents in Georgia, Metro Boomin and 21 Savage sat down with Noisey to talk about their unique collaboration and why it sizzles. When asked why he chose to work with 21 on Savage Mode, Metro mentioned his style.

"He wasn't really rapping like anybody else," the producer said. "Everybody [...] rapping real similar right now." 21 jumped in to clear up what his partner in crime was trying to say.

"Fast-patterned rapping like the Migos. If they ain't rapping like the Migos, they're trying to sing like Future," he said while Metro opined that he is "tired of hearing that shit." He said it's not that he doesn't like what they do but he doesn't want to hear from "nobody that's not the niggas that do that shit."

As for 21, he admitted that he was attracted to working with Metro because of the fame he's gained producing hits for Future, Kanye, Drake and The Weeknd -- and the fact that he's on top of his game right now.

"Most of the producers from Atlanta didn't have no star quality. Like he got a star quality," the rapper said about his associate. He also said he admired the producer's work ethic in the studio.

"That nigga going to stay in the studio till about 9 o'clock in the morning. I'll be leaving his ass and go home at 5. That nigga be working his ass off, that's why he is where he at."
