The two TDE artists did their "Ctrl" collaboration "Doves In The Wind."

SZA's Ctrl tour stop in L.A. Saturday Night featured a very special surprise guest. Kendrick Lamar, collaborator and TDE labelmate to SZA was brought out to perform his verse from "Doves In The Wind," an explicit highlight off the singer's acclaimed debut album. Judging from some fan-filmed clips of the show, the audience was pretty excited to see Lamar and SZA sharing the stage.

In August, Kendrick explained why he was inspired to get on "Doves In The Wind" in an interview with MTV. "Ice Cube always said from the jump, ‘The first line has to be the line that draws everyone.’ Her first line, when she played it, ‘Real n****’s do not deserve pussy.’ Come on,” he said. “That just drew me in. Her storytelling progresses, and it just lured me into writing my own verse. I never heard a female artist come from that perspective. It’s aggressive and it’s unapologetic. It just made me feel a certain type of way where I wanted to give my perspective."

Both SZA and Kendrick Lamar have released studio albums in 2017, and it looks like ScHoolboy Q could be the next TDE signee in line to share a project. Q revealed that his follow-up to 2016's Blank Face LP was 90% done earlier this week.

Meanwhile, SZA is planning to release a deluxe edition of Ctrl featuring new music in the near future. She's also announced that Solange will be directing her video for "The Weekend," which is expected to arrive soon.
