The 2018 BET Social Awards rolled around last night with categories such as Best Tea, Social Hustle and Clapback of the year. One of the most prominent social media figures, Snoop Dogg, went without any nominations and was vocal about it to say the least. Snoop shared his reaction to the snub on his Instagram account, ranting, "When it come to this Instagram s--t, everybody love my page." He continues, "I keep you laughing, I keep you thinking, I keep good music. Why the f--k ain't I on the BET Social Awards?"
Snoop ends his stream of consciousness by joking that, in order to get some respect on his name, he may need to pull a Kanye and snatch the award out of someone's hands. The BET Social Awards committee may need to face the facts; with a consistently updated feed and over 21 million Instagram followers, the West Coast rap legend is a social media icon, which he proclaims to open the IG rant, stating, "I'm the king of social media!"
One thing is for sure: Snoop should be all over his social accounts during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles when his team of rappers matches up against the 2 Chainz-led squad.
