The resurgence in numbers of female rappers making a viable career in a traditionally male-dominated arena in 2018 is way past the trending phase and has officially signaled an era in which female emcees are getting their due and naturally an influx of new talent is trying its hand at the craft.
One of the latest names to emerge is South Carolina’s Renni Rucci, a former dancer who found viral success in her remixes and freestyles of popular tracks which eventually led to an alleged deal with Quality Control, home to acts like Migos and Lil Baby.
Now, the southern upstart has returned with a new track in the form of “Shook.” The formula here is quite simple as Renni unleashes warning shots of her come up while maintaining a hold on her beginnings.
