Kaepernick's influence is spreading.

Colin Kaepernick is several seasons removed from playing in the NFL, but his definitive kneel is still sending ripples through the organization. Several artists have turned down the opportunity to perform during the Super Bowl, which is the most viewed event on television. Millions upon millions tune in to watch the Super Bowl every year, giving the headlining artist an unprecedented amount of publicity. Although Rihanna may have passed on the show, Maroon 5 took the job soon after.

According to a source for US WeeklyMaroon 5 “is having a lot of trouble finding guests” to join them on stage. The Super Bowl takes place in Atlanta on February 3, and there have been rappers from the hometown that the group can enlist. Jermaine Dupri is still in support of the Super Bowl being in his city, and thinks the event should be used as a platform to send a powerful message. Maybe Dupri and Adam Levine haven't connected yet.

The source continues on to state “No one wants to associate themselves with the NFL” in light of the Colin Kaepernick collusion case. Maroon 5 has reached out to Cardi B, but the "Bodak Yellow" rapper has declined the offer.  “As of today, she’s not,” says the source. “She’s been going back and forth, but it’s a no right now.”
