In the current climate of the public's interest in all things hip hop, it's hard to believe that Joey Bada$$ has only now struck pay dirt on the Billboard Top 100. Infinity (888), his collaboration with XXXTentacion, is the song to earn that distinction. In a sense, this marks a meaningful moment in Joey's growth as an artist and a person. His fans or anyone following closely can back me up when I say this here: Joey is starting to show his potential.
Infinity (888) was featured on XXXtentacion's ?, which also happens to hold the number one spot on the Top 200 Album Chart. Infinity (888) enters at #83, garnering 9.1 million streams in the U.S. alone. It is but one of 7 tracks entering the fold.
The pair have hinted at a joint mixtape being in the works. They seem to feed off each other's energy in a way that translates better than either rapper could have expected, with much to offer undersurface.
Hopefully Joey takes a minute to celebrate his first Hot 100 entry. It's worth noting that he has charted on other Billboard charts since 2013. In fairness this is but one accomplishment, but arguably his greatest one to date.
