Today marks the arrival of the TIDAL Wave playlist, in which HNHH staffers pick some of their favorite songs from the last week's batch of newly released music. While last week coincided with new drops from ScHoolboy Q, Rico Nasty, and more, this week's edition brings forth a more widespread panel from a variety of different projects. YG, Tyga, and Jon Z's "Go Loko" was a quick favorite, with the strangely low-key Spanish guitar making for an understated banger, though it may not be for everyone. Eminem and Logic brought the lyricism out for "Homicide," though it would appear I stand alone in my appreciation for the art of "BARS."
Young Nudy and Pi'erre Bourne's bizarrely delightful "Extendo" proved a universal favorite, while Aron and myself let the "Old Head Energy" embrace our souls through Styles P. PNB Rock became a veritable Alex champion, and Denzel Curry's recently-released "Ricky" got some last minute appreciation, a reminder that he's got big things on the horizon.
