Gucci Mane's known for his prolific catalog. Even when he was locked up, there wasn't a year that passed where he didn't release several projects within a year. Last year, he released El Gato The Human Glacier, Mr. Davis and DropTopWop with Metro Boomin. Shortly after dtropping El Gato, he announced his follow up project, Evil Genius. He's yet to reveal a release date for the project but in a recent interview, he explained why it might be taking so long.

Billboard recently spoke to Gucci Mane about the progress of his forthcoming album, Evil Genius as well as the Glacier Boyz project with Lil Yachty and Migos. Guwop explained that he's been working on the songs and trying to perfect the project. He wants fans to listen to the project and know that he's still passionate about his craft.

"I've been really working on the songs," He said. "You know, I just don't put out anything. So I'm trying to make this project one of my best projects ever. I'm really trying to collaborate with the best producers and make sure I give my fans something that they can be like, 'Ok, Gucci still coming hard. He still passionate about the music."

In terms of the Glacier Boyz project, Gucci says the squad is currently "putting the final touches" on the collaborative effort.

"We got like 15 songs recorded," he said. "We still just whipping it up again. We're going back in the lab again and putting the final touches on it. We're working on it."

Both projects are due out this year but know that we definitely need some sort of Gucci project to bump this summer.
