Donald Trump, who has recently visited Switzerland to partake in the World Economic Forum found time to sit down with Pierce Morgan, host of Good Morning Britain, to answer a set of questions.
Morgan brings up how the current POTUS had retweeted three videos that came from a notable far-right, anti-Islam Twitter account, which really irked British Prime Minister Theresa May. Trump was sharing content from Britain First, which is a well-known ultra-nationalist political group, who staunchly oppose multiculturalism, and routinely invade mosques in the UK to assert their Christian beliefs.
In response to this particularly baffling support of hatred, a spokesperson for May offered a statement on how "British people overwhelmingly reject the prejudiced rhetoric of the far-right, which is the antithesis of the values that this country represents -- decency, tolerance and respect."
Morgan felt it was his duty to bring up this particularly troublesome debacle and allow Trump to explain himself, and maybe, just maybe, recognize that he had did something wrong and intolerable.
Trump's response included that his motivations behind retweeting the videos came from his opposition towards radical islamic terror, which he reveals the videos indeed captured. However, as the conversation progressed, the president offered an apology for his indiscretion by saying "if you're telling me they're horrible racist people, I would certainly apologize if you would like me to do that."
While it may come off as completely sincere, Trump does acknowledge that he would never intentionally offend the U.K., as he greatly admires the countries and people within it.
