It was recently confirmed that pop-rock band Maroon Five will be this year's Super Bowl performers. After the news broke, fans were quick to speculate that the band would be joined by Bronx Native Cardi B, for a performance of their joint hit "Girls Like You." TMZ has recently reported that Cardi and her team may be undergoing negotiations.

According to the report, Cardi is in conversation with officials from the National Football League (NFL) about taking to the stage at the event which will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. It seems that main discussion is centered around whether or not Cardi will simply accompany Maroon 5 during a performance of their shared song, or whether she will perform in a solo set. Cardi is reportedly fielding a number of offers to perform in February and is naturally trying to secure the best possible deal for herself.

Back in February, TMZ asked Cardi whether she would accept an offer to perform at the prestigious halftime show and passionately responded: "when they hire Colin Kaepernick back." While it seems Cardi's wishes for Kaepernick have yet to be fulfilled, it seems quite possible that she'll take the stage next February.
