Congratulations, Ariana Grande!
Ariana Grande has been dealing with a lot lately from the passing of her ex (Mac Miller) to her breakup with fiance, Pete Davidson. Finally some great news has come her way since she will be recognized as Billboard's Woman of the Year at the 13th annual Women in Music dinner and gala in New York. The "God Is A Woman" joins a list of women who have previously won the award such as Selena Gomez, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
“Ariana Grande is a star on her own terms, never bending to any particular musical trend or path in the industry,” Ross Scarano, Billboard’s vp of content said. “Certain in her convictions, she consistently stands up for herself and her decisions in a world that often isn’t hospitable to that sort of strength in young women. She’s got guts, she’s making some of the best music of her career, and she’s absolutely deserving of Woman of the Year.”
So far in Ariana's career, she's held the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart three times and her August album release Sweetener pulled in the largest streaming numbers by a female pop album ever.
The Women In Music event will broadcast live on December 6th via Twitter from 7:00 to 10 p.m.
