The abilities of both Young Thug and XXXTentacion to seamlessly bend genres and create bodies of work that transcend hip-hop aren’t much of a secret, and now Young Thug has unveiled his desire to hop in the booth with his young contemporary.
It was Friday night that Thugger played an unreleased track on Instagram Live, and asked fans to tag X in the post. “I want y’all to tag [XXXTentacion],” he said before playing the selection. “I like this young ni**a. He’s one of the only young ni**as that I like. He’s really dope. I want y’all to tag him. I want him featured on this.”

This new preview serves as a contrast to Young Thug’s previous announcement to fall back from music this year in honor of his brother, who is both deaf and mute. “I’ve got a deaf brother,” he said back in February. “I’ve got a brother who can’t hear or talk, so I want to act deaf for a year. So, I ain’t going to put out no music this year.”
It’d be safe to assume that whatever comes of this potential collaboration will be arriving sometime next year when taking that declaration into consideration. However, Birdman most recently announced his intent on dropping off his collaborative Rich Gang 2 project with Young Thug before the end of Summer 2018.
So far, XXXTentacion has yet to respond to Thug’s PSA.
