October 6th will mark the night that Hip-Hop’s best and brightest descend on Miami, Florida as filming takes place for this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards. While DJ Khaled is set to reprise his role as host, the stage is set to be set ablaze by appearances and performances from the southern state’s best including Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, T-Pain, Trina, Plies, and Flo Rida.

The year’s “I Am Hip-Hop Award” will keep things in theme as it is presented to South Florida’s 2 Live Crew founding member and the “Godfather of Southern Hip-Hop” Uncle Luke. In addition to this, the likes of Yo Gotti, Playboi Carti, and Migos will also be gracing the stage to perform the smashes that they’ve been responsible for this year.

Where nominations are concerned Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and DJ Khaled all head up the nominees, bringing in in nine nominations apiece, even competing against each other in the category for Best Hip-Hop Video for “HUMBLE.”, “Bodak Yellow,” and “Wild Thoughts,” respectively. For Kung-Fu Kenny, further accolades include nods in the categories for Lyricist of The Year and Single of The Year for “HUMBLE.”, while Cardi B will be in the running for awards that include Best New Hip-Hop Artist and Best Mixtape for her Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2.

“I am so excited to host the BET Hip-Hop Awards for a second year,” Khaled, whose nominations also include Producer of the Year and Album of The Year, announced previously. “This is such an iconic show that highlights the hustle of hip hop artists in the industry. It is a huge honor to be a part of a night that pays homage to some of the greatest talent of our generation and I’m looking forward to the amazing performances and tributes. You know I’ll be bringing the cloth talk and the keys — Hip Hop Awards 2017 is going to be major!”
