Ne-Yo drops off new track "Apology."

In conjunction with the announcement of his seventh studio album’s promising track list, veteran crooner Ne-Yo also dropped off an open letter in song form with his most recent “Apology” track. The cut addressed to all the women he’s ever hurt in the past is penned by a team that includes Ne-Yo and fellow singer-songwriter Eric Bellinger.

The track is moving directly down the path that Ne-Yo intends to take his Good Man full-length effort as it offers up an element of male culpability regarding the treatment of women. It’s an element that Ne-Yo says is lacking today.

“We need this right now,” he told WWD recently of the album’s message. “We [as men] just don’t know how it is we’re supposed to act toward other people and in regard to women. It’s kind of a ‘lead by example’ conversation that I’m trying to have here.”

Good Man, set to feature vocal appearances from names that include Bellinger, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Bebe Rexha, and latin crooner Romeo Santos, is set for release on June 8th.

Quotable Lyrics:

Man, I ain't give a damn, damn
A lot of women had to deal with a boy
That was supposed to be a man, hey
So to the ones I hurt, becoming who I am
