If you're talking to Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier, you better put some respect on 2 Chainz' name.

With PRhyme 2 making waves throughout the community, we had the honor of chopping it up with the album's legendary authors. Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier swung by for an extensive chat, in which a variety of topics were covered. It became particularly interesting when the topic of "Flirt" guest star 2 Chainz was brought up, as Primo seemed confused by some of the initial reaction to a PRhyme & Tity Boi collaboration.

"I've been trying to work with him for a long time," says Royce. "I always felt like Chainz, he get his just due, he gets his just due amongst his peers. Every artist knows that Chainz can go. We all know." Primo weighs in, admitting that "a lot of people from my era were already hating before they heard it. They like "Preem" how could you?" Eventually he went on to claim that some of his unnamed contemporaries felt 2 Chainz "wasn't hip-hop," which irked Premier to the fullest. "How is he not, number one? Number two, how would you think we would put it on there if he couldn't put it down. We didn't give him no instructions."

Royce laughs, reflecting on the process of receiving verses from Yelawolf and Tity Boi. "We sent you the beat, and ya'll did the same thing all the other emcees do. You sent me way more bars than I asked for, and you kicked my ass," he laughs.

For more from PRhyme, including whether or not Primo will ever dabble in trap, be sure to catch the entirety of the conversation right here.
