Fans are still waiting on the release of Travis Scott's highly anticipated Astroworld, which will no doubt contend for one of 2018's biggest releases. In the mean time, Travis served up the Quavo assisted Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, which felt like an appetizer to the inevitable main course. And while Scott's Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight follow-up is still in the pipes, he managed to remain a strong musical presence throughout 2017, even managing to secure a place in the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Suffice it to say, Scott's a force to be reckoned with, and the enigmatic artist has recently scored himself an extensive Billboard cover story.
The extensive interview paints a vivid picture of the man behind "Goosebumps," describing him as a "mad scientist," conjuring music aside various curios and tropical plants, generally staying in the studio until dawn. Off the bat, Scott reveals plans on headlining his own arena tour throughout 2018, when he will no doubt release his new solo album. On that note, Astroworld remains one of music's best kept secrets, although a close friend and A&R of Scott describes the project as being "loosely inspired by Houston and its slow-riding, bottom-heavy sound." Vague, but there's a reason for that.
“I don’t even know what’s going to be on it yet,” he says, before revealing that Yeezus collaborator Kanye West will indeed have a presence on the album. "I played him some joints. We’re always talking. We’re always working on shit.
