While you’re familiarizing yourself with the energetic track list of SOBxRBE’s Gangin album, the crew has also dropped off a visual aide in the form of the music video for their “Carpoolin” single. As the name suggests, the crew pile into a whip and lead us down the streets in their native Vallejo, California.
Gangin and this new video arrive in the heat of a fruitful period for the group, gaining some serious traction following placement alongside Kendrick Lamar on Black Panther: The Album. Despite the momentum, the craft remains organic, as they revealed in a recent interview with the Fader that the process is the same even though the environment has switched up on them.
“It’s kind of the same formula,” explained Yhung T.O “Back in the day though, n*ggas just used to be in the garage on some straight gang shit. In the studio, playing hella beats, wasting hella time, just doing anything. Nowadays, it’s more like, niggas book a studio and go in the studio. It feels more like work.”
