Ty Dolla $ign's "Side Effects" video plays out like a short film.

Like his excellent Beach House 3 album, Ty Dolla $ign's latest video is at once intimate, nostalgic, wistful, and bittersweet. Visualized through a washed-out lens filter, the Ryan Hope directed clip looks and feels cinematic, shot and edited with confidence worthy of its subject. As for the man himself, Ty Dolla finds himself front and center, navigating the tumultuous balancing act between a relationship and a music career. Unfortunately, those waters are hardly as tranquil as those by his beachfront property. The clip also explores the title's double meaning, with "Side Effects" being clearly visualized through inebriation. Overall, it's cool to see such a summery-banger pack itself with so much complex emotion.

If you haven't already done so, check out Ty Dolla $ign's Beach House 3. And while his album is still fresh, Ty shows no signs of slowing down - the singer recently appeared in London On Da Track's latest single "Whatever You On," joining the likes of Young Thug, Jeremih & YG
