Lil Nas X's newest single isn't out yet but it's already controversial.

Lil Nas X has been controversial for almost his entire career. Much of that has come from anti-lgbt advocates and homophobes in the rap community who take issue with his presence as an openly gay artist. He's also had his issues with the religious community in the past. It started when he used demonic imagery in the music video for his song "MONTERO." That ended up serving as the lead single to an identically titled album that was a massive success and Lil Nas hasn't gone anywhere since.

He got in trouble with many religious people all over again for a very different reason last year. He teased some new music and claimed that he was entering his "christian era." Many Christians took issue with him using that terminology, feeling like he was adopting the phrase to make fun of it. That same anger returned earlier this week when he announced his newest single and shared an album cover that once again evokes religious themes. Despite many rappers frequently conjuring religious themes and subject matter without much controversy, many are taking issue with Lil Nas X doing it. But there's at least one person who sees the situation differently. Check out Ryan Garcia's tweet below.

Ryan Garcia's Response To Lil Nas X

Noted Christian Ryan Garcia took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the situation and his advice for fellow religious fans. "Pray for Lil Nas X. Although it may enrage Christian's what he is doing. We are called to pray upon our adversaries. So lift him up in prayer so he can see what he is actually doing. Love god with all your heart mind and soul. Love one another," his tweet reads.

The first single from the rapper's new album drops later this week. The song is called "J CHRIST" and the cover art for it features the rapper in the image of Jesus being nailed to the cross. What do you think of Ryan Garcia's response to backlash over Lil Nas X's new era? Let us know in the comment section below.
