Westside Gunn is no stranger to wading into rap discussions on Twitter. Just a few weeks ago he ended up trending after a long argument between him and a producer drew a lot of attention. This time he's once again digging into some controversy. Rap fans online often discuss which rappers are the best at picking out beats to rap over and one fan online had their own take. "Rick Ross, Isaiah Rashad & Lucki the best beat pickers of all time lol," their tweet read. Gunn clearly didn't agree and in a quote tweet of the post he said "Not even close!!!!!"

That caused fans to rush to the comments defending the artists involved. "zay up there" one commenter replied claiming that Isaiah Rashad actually is one of the best beat selectors in the game. "Rick Ross has you by miles on beat picking. He literally brought lounge music to hip-hop," another comment said. Numerous commenters shared a video compilation of various Griselda members rapping over strange-sounding beats as evidence that Gunn has no room to talk.

Westside Gunn's Hot Twitter Takes

Westside Gunn found himself in a different kind of controversy last month when he announced the return of his Hitler Wears Hermes mixtape series. The series, whose title parodies Devil Wears Prada has been controversial in the past for its name. This time, Gunn announced a new edition to the series and shared its album cover which proved quite controversial. Fans online discussed his use of Nazi-themed imagery throughout the series and the ethics of including it. Gunn replied to one of the posts, though largely dodging the issue and primarily bragging about his own accomplishments.

The Hitler Wears Hermes series was supposed to end last year. Westside Gunn announced that Ten would be the last installment in the series when it dropped back in October. That clearly didn't last long as now there's a new release coming soon. What do you think of Westside Gunn's take on the best beat selectors in hip-hop? Let us know in the comments below.
