A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie talks Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow," Hurricane Harvey & More.

We recently caught up with New York rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, after the young rapper delivered a crazy set at Budweiser's "Made In America Festival." While sitting backstage, A Boogie dropped a few teasers for his upcoming album The Bigger Artisthis first project since being named a member of XXL's 2017 Freshman Class. The album, which drops September 29th, is set to feature a couple of big name artists, namely Chris Brown, Trey Songz, 21 Savage, PnB Rock, NBA Youngboy. "There's gonna be some heat," promises A Boogie. "Like fifteen songs on there."

A Boogie also teases what sounds like a future banger, a collaboration with PnB Rock & NBA Youngboy called "Beast Mode." The Beast Wars evoking title has been a tried and true rap staple for years, and at the very least, you can always expect emcees to channel their untapped, animalistic rage. After reflecting on his platinum and gold plaques, A Boogie shares some kind words for another breakout commercial success - Cardi B. Like many before him, A Boogie has been captured by the infectious charm of "Bodak Yellow," calling it "the greatest record [Cardi] did so far, and [he] can't wait to hear more." He reveals that he and Cardi actually grew up in the same neighborhood, and he seems pleased that two up-and-comers out of Highbridge were able to make such an impact.

He closes out the conversation by speaking about his recent visit to Houston, and how he left feeling inspired by all of those who donated to victims of Hurricane Harvey. Be sure to catch the entire interview, and stay tuned for more from A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. His album The Bigger Artist is coming at month's end, and from the sound of it, it's sure to be chalk full of bangers.
