On the night he was hit last June, the New York rapper was supposed to fly overseas to France, but obviously never got the chance.

At just 21 years old, Lil Tjay has been through a lot – including being shot seven times last June. At the time, the young lyricist was hours away from hopping on a flight to Paris. This obviously never came to be as a result of his nearly fatal injuries. He's taken the time since then to recover and focus on his health – still showing out with noteworthy new music releases from time to time. Now that he's feeling more like himself again, Tjay finally took his flight to France this past weekend. He performed in the city of love for a crowd who was nothing short of enthused to see him back on stage.

On Sunday (April 16), Akademiks posted a video from the recent event. It shows hundreds of people shining light from their phones back at Tjay as he entertains them. "I got shot right before I got on the plane," the "Beat the Odds" artist reflected at the show. "I got a second chance at life," he also noted before launching into a fan favourite from his discography.

Lil Tjay Does it Big in Paris

On his own Instagram feed, Tjay has been commerating his time overseas with plenty of content. He began the month of April in Israel, later travelling to Germany, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Hungary. Earlier this week, he also hit up Italy. To mark his time in France, the lyricist cleverly referenced a bar from Jay-Z and Kanye West's "N*ggas in Paris" in his caption. "If you escaped what I escaped, you'd be in Paris getting f*cked up too!! 🤷🏾‍♂️🍻," it reads.

Speaking of Hov, he also made an appearance in the capital of France this weekend. The father of three was tapped to perform at Louis Vuitton's surprise concert in honour of Andy Warhol and Jean Michel-Basquiat, during which he rapped his and Ye's 2011 hit, along with a host of other popular tracks. Aside from those performances, music lovers have also been raving about sets at both Coachella and Rolling Loud Thailand over the past few days.
