There was no preview of Views from the 6 tonight on OVO Sound Radio, but the live stream did include a new track from OVO's Roy Wood$. Oliver El-Khatib played Wood$' latest track, "How I Feel," during tonight's episode, and the Toronto singer put up the song on his soundcloud shortly after it made its debut on Beats 1. Though the song is titled "How I Feel," the beat is made up of elements of the song "Rube," released in March 2014 by the Norwegian electronic artist known as Pandreas.
The new track finds Wood$ channeling the house-y R&B sound that OVO has been purveying with acts like Majid Jordan and dvsn. One can hear a little bit of The Weeknd (or, by extension, MJ) in his more aggressive vocals. Also on tonight's show, El-Khatib revealed that Wood$ has an upcoming project titled Waking at Dawn, on which "How I Feel" is expected to appear. The month of March is gonna be an exciting one for OVO.
