At the end of last month, Slim Thug dropped his third album of the year, completing the "Hogg Life" trilogy with Hustler of the Year. Right before the album's release, Thugga dropped "Drank," a lean-dedicated anthem featuring two fellow Houston legends and longtime drank connoisseurs, Z-Ro and Paul Wall.
The video begins with shots of purple syrup cascading into styrofoam cups full of bubbling soda and goes on to show the H-Town vets moving gracefully through the city in slow motion. There have been no shortage of codeine-inspired songs this year, but on "Drank," the three Houston OGs provide a nuanced look at the addictive beverage, acknowledging the potentially detrimental effects it has had on their hometown. Still, it doesn't look like they'll be hanging up their cups anytime soon. "Tell Pimp C to save me a 4 of that Act," says Paul Wall after his closing verse.
