Joey Bada$$, if nothing else, is known for being one of the realest rappers out there. Outspoken when it comes to both his lyrics as well as bigger social issues, which he often discusses on Twitter and other social media platforms, he's never been one to shy away from telling us exactly what's on his mind. However, earlier this week he may have taken at least one step too many in that direction, revealing that he's cancelled some shows on his current tour due to "unforeseen" circumstances. Meanwhile, tweets he fired off after the big astronomical event that took place on Monday seem to indicate that those circumstances aren't really all that mysterious.

The Brooklyn native posted on Twitter on Monday asking his followers if he was "crazy" for looking at the eclipse without glasses. Apparently, he's "sungazed" before and even has his vision temporarily impaired (i.e. - seeing colors), but he's never "died." Of course, the big refrain from those in the astronomy community was that you absolutely needed to be wearing some sort of eye protection, unless you wanted to inflict lasting damage on your sense of sight. Based on the ridicule that Donald Trump received after a picture of him sungazing during the eclipse went viral, I'd say most social media users would agree. Despite this, Joey continued with his original train of thought, saying "This ain't the first solar eclipse and I'm pretty sure our ancestors ain't have no fancy eyewear. Also pretty sure they ain't all go blind." I suppose there's no real way of knowing if what he says about our ancestors is factual or not, but what came next in this story was kind of amusing.

Yesterday, Joey tweeted out that, due to those aforementioned "unforeseen" circumstances, his shows that were booked in Chicago, Cleveland and Toronto would be cancelled. He was supposed to perform as part of the Everybody's Tour, alongside headliner Logic. According to the latter's website, the entire concert hasn't been canned, confirming that it's just Joey who won't be part of the next three tour stops. No concrete details have surfaced about the All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ rapper's condition or how soon he'll be out on the road again but, taken in context with his other tweets, the moral of the story here might be: never forget your sunnies at home.
