Hip-hop artists and celebrities alike have responded on social media to the murder of five Dallas cops during a recent protest.

Last night, as you might already know, a protest went down in support of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, two black men recently slayed by white police officers, each in unjustified circumstances. The protest began in Downtown Dallas, and by 8 PM, it was well underway. By 9 PM, shots reportedly rang out, dispersing a large crowd people as seen in video footage taken at the scene.

Five police officers ended up dead once the protest turned violent, and twelve others were injured, while the crowd of protesters began to flee the scene. Not only were law enforcement officials injured, but two civilians ended up caught in the gunfire as well.

Authorities revealed that three suspects were in custody regarding the shooting, and one suspect is dead. The suspect who died in a stand-off with the Dallas cops reportedly told them that he wanted to kill white people, "especially police officers," as CNN reports. Dallas Police Chief David Brown has since said this suspect acted alone. The suspect was killed by a bomb detonated by police officers-- Brown said, "We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was. Other options would have exposed our officers to grave danger. The suspect is deceased as a result of detonating the bomb."

In light of all these recent (and extremely saddening) events, celebrities have reacted and responded on various social media. Take a look at a round-up of their responses below, which we'll update continuously through out the day as more react. Some, of course, have responded by way of new music-- Jay Z dropped "Spiritual," Miguel dropped "How Many," Chris Brown dropped "My Friend," among many others.
