The only true debut in this week's charts came from King Los' God Money War. While the pre-cursor to Los' upcoming official debut managed to move 7,357 units (8,331 with streams), it only came in at number 67. Another notable debut was Tyga's Gold Album, though it actually failed to crack the Billboard 200. Released on Spotify on a Tuesday and later as an iTunes Download on a Friday, T-Raww's new album had a near full-week of streams and a few days of purchases to accumulate under 5,000 sales.
Meanwhile, Drake's IYRTITL surpassed ASAP Rocky for the best-selling rap album of the week, and the deluxe re-release of Trey Songz' Trigga sent him back up the charts.
Check the breakdown of the week's biggest albums below.
1) Drake—IYRTITL: Drake is sitting at number 12, up from 16 last week, making this the second week rap albums have been shut out of the top ten. He moves 8,514 copies of his mixtape (21,525 with streams), 965,261
2) ASAP Rocky—A.L.L.A: ASAP Rocky falls from 12 to 18, moving 9,397 units (18,282 including streams). He's currently sitting at a totals of 189,680 sales after five weeks.
3) Nicki Minaj—The Pinkprint: Thanks to Minaj's continued radio dominance, her album has continued to chart since its 2014 release. Up from 25 to 20, Nicki continues to earn most of her units through streams, with 17,261 sold this week, only 3,086 in traditional sales. She's at 637,885 in total.
4) Various—Furious 7: The Furious 7 OST slides from 20 to 22, again counting on Wiz streams to stay afloat, with 2,912 sold (16,852 including streams).
5) Trey Songz—Trigga Reloaded: Trey Songz returns to the charts at 23 with the deluxe packaging of his 2014 album, Trigga. The reloaded edition moves 7,557 copies and 16,657 including streams.
6) Big Sean—Dark Sky Paradise: Making a miraculous jump from 55 to 37, Big Sean scores 3,798 sales (13,711 with streams). He's still looking for the gold plaque with 292,000 units moved thus far.
7) J. Cole—2014 Forest Hills Drive: Cole is still hovering in the low 40s, but has been amaging a good ratio of streams to traditional sales, beefing up his tally each week and edging closer to platinum status (RIAA still only weighs traditional sales for these certifications). He's at a total of 943,000 sold, with 6,185 moved this week (12,650 withs streams)
8) Jason Derulo—Everything Is 4: Derulo has been falling hard since his debut a month back, now dropping from 39 to 43. Despite having a hit on the Hot 100, his album sales have been relatively lacklustre. This week he moves 2,941 copies (12,124 with streams).
It's a sad week on the Hot 100, as Fetty Wap has given up his number 3 spot, falling to number 4, essentially confirming the peak of "Trap Queen". It'll always be number one in our hearts. With that being said, Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" sees no signs of budging, even with Taylor Swift hot on its heels. Young Thug has enetered the charts for the first time in a while with "Check" at number 100. Elsewhere Janet Jackson's late career triumph, "No Sleeep" has slipped in at 67, Jidenna's "Classic Man" is up from 50 to 34, and Rihanna's "BBHMM" is steady at 28. We'll have to see how RiRi's controversial video assists her chart presence next week. We're anticipating a top ten placement at least.
