This week we await the official numbers for Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience, which is projected to sell huge amounts (750-800k), and will no doubt take over Charts Don’t Lie for a period of time. Next week will also have Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being II dropping, which is also sure to make a splash on the charts in the coming week. This week however, we see hardly any changes from last week’s chart entries, unless a replacement of T.I. for Alicia Keys. And the changes in sales—they weren't for the better—every artist seemed to drop from their spot last week. Take a look at who sold what below.
1) Rihanna—Unapologetic: Rih Rih’s fans might just be too obsessed, but nonetheless it means sales for her seventh studio LP. The album dropped from #5 to #12 but still sold 27,821 copies.
2) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis—The Heist: This week The Heist comes in at #17, which is also a drop from last week. How long do you think these two will be at the top of the charts? They moved another 23k units over the week, with a 3% decrease in sales.
3) Kendrick Lamar—good kid, m.A.A.d city: Kendrick is another one who dropped on the charts this week. Although he set the internet ablaze this week with the remix to "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe," GKMC dropped to #26 with the Aftermath debut selling 15,763. Interestingly enough, that is equal to neither a decrease nor increase in sales, but approximately the same amount the Compton rapper moved last week.
4) Alicia Keys—Girl On Fire: It seems like no one rose up this week, as Ms. Keys also took a drop of 6 spots, selling 12k which is actually a 5% increase in sales from last week.
5) A$AP Rocky—Long.Live.A$AP: While Rocky was strong on the charts for awhile and giving fellow emcee Kendrick Lamar a run for his money, he hasn’t quite been able to keep up with his West Coast counter-part. This week Rocky falls to #48, only moving around 10k.
6) The Weeknd—Trilogy: This week the elusive Abel Tesfaye comes in at #59 on the Billboard 200. That’s a decrease from his brief moment in the top 50, with a spot in the 30s last week. This is The Weeknd’s 18th week on the 200.
In other news, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" single continues to hold on to the #1 spot on the Digital Songs Chart for the tenth week in a row. Justin Timberlake has two singles which are in the top ten on the Digital Songs Chart, both "Mirrors" and "Suit & Tie." We don't see the King of the South on here this week, as his album Trouble Man fell under the top 50 on the Billboard 200 and is now at #64.
