Drake shows love to the city of Houston.

For some reason or another, Drake has taken it upon himself to get the world to appreciate the city of Houston, a noble cause, no doubt. Though Houston residents didn't exactly name him their official Canadian ambassador, it's clear Drake and his OVO team put a lot of effort and resources into making Houston Appreciation Weekend a success.

The event kicked off on Thursday night (May 21) with a Bun B tribute event. Houston mayor Annise Parker spoke at the ceremony, as did Bun B's high school English teacher, who Drake reportedly tracked down before the event. Comedian Hannibal Buress laid down a quick stand-up routine, and Drake himself made the final tribute speech of the night, telling Bun: "You made me a lot cooler than I was."

Yesterday, there was a celebrity softball game that, along with Drizzy, included famous faces such as: Ne-Yo, NY Giants Wide Receiver O'dell Beckham Jr., and Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver Dwayne Bowe. If you're wondering, Aubrey was 0 for 2. A valiant effort nonetheless, as you can see below.

Thursday night also saw the unveiling of a new mural that shows the faces of Bun B, Pimp C, and Drizzy himself.

Props to Drizzy for organizing what looks like a successful weekend-- though does his mug deserve to be next to the trill OGs? Sound off in the comments.
