The acclaimed actor may have a string of box office hits under his belt, but he also carries a few scandals on his back. The actor was recorded saying the n-word, with a hard "er," and he was accused of assaulting his ex-wife. Gibson's father's comments about the Holocaust being fiction also made waves, and there have been accusations that Gibson, too, has made disparaging remarks about Jewish people.
Actress Winona Ryder recently stated that Mel Gibson made a few brash and offensive comments in her presence. While at a party he allegedly asked Winona's gay friend if he was going to contract AIDS by being in his presence, and later reportedly commented on Winona's Jewish heritage, asking, ‘You’re not an oven dodger, are you?’"
A representative for Mel Gibson issued a statement to Variety denying the allegations, while also recognizing that this isn't a new story from Winona Ryder. “This is 100 percent untrue,” the rep stated. “She lied about it over a decade ago, when she talked to the press, and she’s lying about it now.”
