Jahlil Beats Lists His Top 10 Singles He Produced

The other week we got producer Jahlil Beats to do some of our work for us, and list his Top 10 producers of all time. It was an interesting glimpse into the mind and the influences of the young producer, as he cited plenty of seasoned producers and let us know his favorite to ever do it was Swizz Beatz. 

Now that we know where his inspiration for being a producer comes from, we're following it up with Jahlil's list of his Top 10 singles that he himself produced. Of course, given that Jahlil's career got a kick start when he began working with Meek Mill, a relationship which has continued to this day, the list is pretty Meek-heavy. Can you guess what Jahlil puts as his #1 record though?

"On that It's Tha World mixtape. Really one of my favorite records I did. Jeezy exceeded my expectations for the record.I always wanted Jeezy on a record. When I brought it to him and played it for him, he already had it mapped out. That was the first beat I played for Jeezy, I played him one beat, he was like, 'yo I got to get on this joint right now.'"

"This was really different 'cause it was like a street-trap type sound. But he was just being himself and he got a crazy flow on it. When I get in the car and cruise I like to play that joint, when I go running or something like that, I listen to "Lost in the Sauce" to get me hyped."

"That record is really like, the record that really put me in the people's eye, that put me on. For real, for real. Chris was going through his legal issues, and they wanted to come back with something hard with the Fan of a Fan mixtape. I feel like I was part of him getting back to where he is now, so that's always gunna be a special record."

"That record is just like super-turn up. Meek talkin' that shit on that joint. Flow is ridiculous. Definitely one of my favorite records, man. Meek killed that shit."

"That's my first record I did with Wayne and Gudda. I always wanted to sample the record, and I initially did the record for Meek Mill. DJ Ill Will reached out to me and was like, 'yo I wanna get Wayne and Gudda to do this joint.' So I gave it to Will, he gave it to Wayne, and Wayne laid it that night...It's Lil Wayne. Me, coming from Meek Mill, who was on the rise, to Lil Wayne, really changed the game for me. Everybody was lookin' at me different like, alright, this kid is serious. That song put me on another level."

"That record was my first top 10 Billboard record, so it's always gunna be special to me. And on top of that it was getting played on the radio, and he's talking about 'amen', so it was like cool, like "Jesus Walks." I'ma always think about that record."

"This record is stupid in the clubs. You play this in the house parties you play this in the clubs, it's gunna be pandemonium, period. The energy, the sirens, the hard 808s, it's one of my favorite records ever. That's why I gave it the #4 spot

"I produce this record with Fraser T. Smith, and this was my first pop record. It made it to the top 10, it made it to #7 over in London. Very dope record, Childish Gambino is on it. It's real chill, and it took me to that next level, let people know that I could do those pop records and do those r'n'b records. It's something different outside of those street records."

"Now I'ma tell you why this record is #2. If it wasn't for that record, me and Meek probably wouldn't even be here. Shout out to Rozay for believing in us, and doing the record off the strength and putting us on the map-- that record got both of us signed."
