Maybach Music Group member Torch spoke up about his new EP and named the Biggie throwback his favorite moment form Rozay's "Mastermind" album.

Now that Rick RossMastermind is out of the way it's time for some of the others on the Maybach Music Group roster to get their fair share of the Spotlight. Torch hit up All Hip-Hop to talk a little about his upcoming EP, Remember When. Torch elaborated on the title choice, saying:

"Its like when you first set out to be in the game, you just want to keep it real. The title’s like ‘remember those days.’ It’s just the authentic beginning and ground roots of the game, that’s what we’re trying to capture with this project."

He also expounded upon working with Maino for the hardcore joint, "What Up," saying, "It’s one of those essence tracks, it takes you back to the Onyx ‘Throw Ya Guns,’ M.O.P ‘Ante Up,’ Busta Rhymes energy. We tried to capture that New York feel. Maino, he been repping hard for the city, so its only right I throw the big homie on there.”

Although the focus remained on Torch's recent efforts, he still spared a few words about his favorite track on the Mastermind album.

“That Mastermind album’s hard as fuck. My personal favorite track on the joint is the ‘Nobody’ joint with French and Puff,” Torch revealed. “It’s the Biggie throwback beat. That’s my favorite joint, because I’m a huge Biggie fan. When I heard them flip that, soon as the beat came on, I was sold.”

This should come as no surprise from anyone who follows Torch, but the statement has a certain amount of poignancy considering today marks the seventeenth anniversary of Biggie's untimely death.
